Top 5 Places I Would Like to Visit

Top 5 places I would like to visit girl airport travel

My last few posts have been very centred around writing and being an author, and while that’s a big part of who I am, it’s not who I am. So, let’s take a little time to get personal.

To aid us in our quest to get to know each other, I found a 52-week blog challenge (pictured below). I’m not sure who came up with this challenge… there is a name in the corner, but I can’t make it out and when I tried to google what I thought it said, nothing came up. If you are the one who made this (or know who did), please let me know so proper credit can be given.

52 week blog challenge

Number one on the list wasn’t helpful seeing as I don’t have any pets. Then number two (10 Favourite Things) seemed a little too generic (and difficult) for my liking. And number three… well, I’m not really a big make-up wearer. There’s stuff in the bag, I just rarely put it on my face.

Being the rebel that I am and considering my love of travel, I’m jumping to the third one on the list: Top 5 Places I Would Like to Visit. There’s no particular order to the places, but number one is definitely my number one.

5. Greece

I’m a big fan of history, especially ancient history. The fact there are monuments still around from that time astounds me. I’m particularly fascinated by Ancient Greece. I would take a road (and ferry) trip around Greece and its islands, stopping off at all the important historical sites: Delphi, Athens (obviously), Crete… and just having a whale of a time.

4. Costa Rica

I am yet to explore Latin America. Why Costa Rica out of the many I could choose from? The answer is simple and probably a little silly. It is home to one of my favourite animals of all time: the sloth. I would love to volunteer in the Sloth Sanctuary there and just be surrounded by sloths all day!

3. Scandinavia

Okay, so it’s not technically a country. But I would love to go to any one of the Scandinavian countries; the further north, the better. I want to experience the days that go on forever in the summer, and the nights that never end in the winter. I want to be amazed by the Northern Lights swirling across the midnight sky. I want to play in snow that reaches my head.

2. Vietnam

I’ve spent a fair amount of time in Asia, but I never got around to visiting Vietnam. There are so many beautiful places I’d want to visit; I’d start at one end and work my way to the other stopping off along the way. Sailing on a junk in Ha Long Bay, and seeing the lantern festival in Hoi An would definitely be at the top of my list.

1. Japan

This one is a bit of a cheat one seeing as I’ve already been to Japan. I lived there for a year to study Japanese, and it is by far my favourite country on this blue and green planet we call home. You know when a place just clicks with you? That’s how Japan is for me. Sure, there may be earthquakes every now and then, and don’t get me started on the cockroaches that come every summer… but I just love it. Words cannot describe. I suppose this one should go on the “Where Would I Like to Visit Again” list, but hey ho.

This was a hard list to write. So many places, so little space on the list. Do you have any countries you’re just dying to visit? Perhaps next time, I’ll write a list of the top places I’ve already been. Bet you can guess which country will be number one… ^_^
